Spencer Perkins

Spencer Perkins Spencer Perkins is the founder of Palisade IP Law. He studied mechanical engineering at Duke University and earned his law degree from Georgetown. After patenting several inventions in college, he developed a deep interest in how intellectual property shapes innovation and competitive advantage.

After practicing as a patent litigator at Finnegan, Spencer saw firsthand how difficult and expensive it was for startups to protect and monetize their patents. Too often, critical decisions about IP were made with incomplete information and blunt, outdated tools.

In response, Spencer began building proprietary patent research and analytics tools designed to evaluate portfolios, identify monetization pathways, and assess enforcement risk. Palisade IP Law was founded to put those tools into practice—combining institutional-grade analysis with focused legal execution to help startups monetize their intellectual property efficiently and strategically.
